Tokyo residents are switching off some of their lights in the afternoon to conserve electricity and avoid a looming power cut.Tokyo is suffering from the hottest June on record, driving up air conditioning use and straining Japan’s electricity grid. The government has urged people to conserve energy during high-use hours, warning of a possible electricity shortage.
