For codependency
I’ll get addicted to your problems
Sacrifice the life I live
To form a narrative
Convince myself that I can solve them
Isn’t in an even trade?
Exchanging love for hate
I don’t love myself, I love your issues
Never able to say no
Not even stop, just go
Perpetuate cycles of abuse

I’ll be your savior
Even though I can’t even save myself
Your knight in shining armor
Your dysfunction I’ll protect
Just do me one favor
Give me permission to neglect
My sense of self and to harbor
Victimhood like a badge upon my chest
